Synopsis
Aspiring Gurner Tony Hickson leaves London for the Lake District, where he is set to enter the 700 year old World Gurning Competition.  Whilst following his "path of destiny" he tracks down the worlds best Gurners and gathers advice and tips on how to pull a winning gurn.  The programme climaxes with Tony taking to the stage under the eye of the world media and 100's of Gurning fans.  The results are a wonderful, subtle and hugely funny documentary.

Shot in the picturesque lake district and set alongside a modern rock soundtrack, The Gurning is a sights and sounds extravaganza, loaded with interesting history and some of the ugliest faces you'll ever see.
